Who's the richer....

One day a father of a very wealthyfamily took his son on a trip to thecountry with the firm purpose of showinghis son how poor people can be. Theyspent a couple of days and nights on thefarm of what would be considered a verypoor family.On their return from their trip, thefather asked his son, "How was thetrip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you seehow poor people can be?" the fatherasked. "Oh Yeah" said the son. "So whatdid you learn from the trip?" asked thefather.The son answered, "I saw that wehave one dog and they had four. We havea pool that reaches to the middle of ourgarden and they have a creek that has noend. We have imported lanterns in ourgarden and they have the stars at night.Our patio reaches to the front yard andthey have the whole horizon.We have a small piece of land tolive on and they have fields that gobeyond our sight. We have servants whoserve us, but they serve others. We buyour food, but they grow theirs. We havewalls around our property to protect us,they have friends to protect them."With this the boy's father wasspeechless. Then his son added, "Thanksdad for showing me how poor we are."Too many times we forget what we haveand concentrate on what we don't have.What is one person's worthless object isanother's prize possession. It is allbased on one's perspective. Makes youwonder what would happen if we all gavethanks for all the bounty we have,instead of worrying about wanting more.Take joy in all you have, especiallyyour family and friends.
